Phone is slow or freezing
A slow phone is really common, and a few simple steps usually get it running smoothly again.
What to do
Step 1: Restart your phone. This clears out a lot of small problems (see our answer on turning your phone off and on).
Step 2: Check your storage in the Settings app. If it's nearly full, delete old videos, photos you don't need, and apps you never use.
Step 3: Update your phone in Settings, under Software Update or System update.
Step 4: Update your apps in the App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 5: Turn off battery saver or Low Power Mode if you don't need it, as it slows the phone down a little.
Step 6: If one app is slow, close it and open it again, or delete and reinstall it.
Step 7: Check your battery health. A worn battery can make an older phone slower.
